MAAT  starts the implementation of the third stage of ” Protect Your voice From Invalidity” Project

TOT workshop for youth cadres in Khafr El Sheikh and Sharkia provinces

Maat for Peace, Development, and Human Rights held a TOT workshop in the framework of  “Protect Your voice From Invalidity” Project, carried out by MAAT in cooperate with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems “IFES” during the period 29-30 September- 2015, in Al Ein Al Sokhna.

16 of youth cadres from  Khafr El Sheikh and Sharkia provinces  participated in the workshop, the workshop targeted to enable participants to possess skills and knowledge helps them to implement training programs for young people in the various provinces, on the electoral system aspects that the ongoing Parliamentary election will be carried out in their bases.

 The workshop included a several topic related to the main goal from the training, some of the most significant issues: communications skills and mechanisms of preparing the training material for trainers, planning training programs, the general principles of free and fair elections, voting and polling procedures in the parliamentary elections in light of the legal governing systems, and how the voter can protect his voice from invalidity, the workshop also included  executing simulation models for the electoral process.

 ” Protect Your voice From Invalidity” project is implement in Khafr El Sheikh and Sharkia provinces, it is the third stage of an awareness project carried out by MAAT and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems since 2011, where its first stage was implemented in theparliament elections 2011/2012, and its second stage was implemented in the Shura Council elections in 2012.

The project targets in its new stage to increase the positive participation percentage of the Egyptian voters in the upcoming parliamentary elections, through building skills and abilities of 16 young cadres, to empower them to train the youth and natural leaders on voter education, and  prepare 240 of youth and natural leaders to carry out voter education campaigns.

 It ‘s expected  in the upcoming phase, the youth cadres that have been qualified will hold local workshops in a number of Khafr El Sheikh and Sharkia provinces’ centers, targeting youth and natural leaders, who will multiply the t knowledge they have learned in these workshops to a larger number of people.
