Invitation to a press conference entitled

“The Human Rights Conditions in Egypt…between the Assessment of International Organizations and National Institutions”

The “Egyptian Civil Society Organizations Coalition for the Universal Periodic Review”, cordially invites you to a press conference entitled “The Human Rights Conditions in Egypt…between the Assessment of International Organizations and National Institutions”, on Saturday, 8th of April 2017, 10.00 am, at the Egyptian Cultural Club, 1101 Corniche Elnil, Garden City, Cairo (Entrance 1 Osiris Street).

The press conference will present the results of the Coalition’s delegation meetings in Geneva on the sidelines of the 34th session of the Human Rights Council with the member states missions, officials of the Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights, human rights council presidency and other international organizations, the meetings that addressed human rights conditions in Egypt in light of the Universal Periodic Review recommendations.

The press conference comes in time where some are trying to mix between legitimate and required communication with the UN mechanisms to advance the human rights situation in Egypt, and the rejected pursuit of others to obtain political support of certain states and regimes against the Egyptian state authorities.

The Coalition’s delegation during the conference will reveal in complete transparency the aspects of the discussions with the international missions and UN officials, along with responding to the suspicions and mistakes linked to the subject, as well as responding to all the inquiries on the results of the 34th session of the Human Rights Council conducted between 27 February – 24 March 2017, and expressing its opinion on the debated human rights condition in Egypt.
