MAAT: the International Alliance for Peace and Development will call the UN to adopt an abiding convention to combat terrorism
MAAT for Peace, Development and Human Rights mourns the martyrs of national duty of the policemen whom were attacked yesterday, Friday 20 October 2017, during their conduct for a proactive security operation to raid a terrorist cell taking from the Oasis desert a haven, the Foundation wishes you speed recovery for the injured.
The last operation adds a new prove that the black terrorism faced by Egypt is the leading challenge for human rights respect, led by the right to life, security and development, as it proves without any doubts that the terror organizations active in Egypt are just tools implementing agendas and plans by regional, political, and international powers and interests.
Some states and governing regimes in the region uses the weakness of the UN system, its tolerance to terrorism, and lack of capacity to adopt deterrent measures and abiding conventions and decisions, as these states and regimes provide political and financial support as well as media platforms and safe haven to the offender and supports of these crimes.
MAAT, out of its realization to the danger of terrorism on world peace and development efforts in the world, the Foundation called for the establishment of the International Alliance for Peace and Development, which met significant responses by leading CSOs in the Arab, European, African, and American territories, the Alliance will work upon its official establishment next year to move towards calling for the UN System to adopt a comprehensive convention to combat and criminalize all types of terrorism and its support.
