Maat for Peace considers with deep concern, condemning and denouncing developments taking place in Libyan territory and follows with great interest the stages of peaceful transition in Libya.
Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights and the Regional Coordinator for North Africa, of NGO Major group for Africa, call on all parties to adopt a policy of renunciation of violence and extremism and instead pursue peaceful and negotiated solutions to end the crisis that the country is undergoing.
Maat appeals to all stakeholders to do their part to calm the situation and spread messages of cooperation and peace as a means of development. It emphasizes that peace and stability are the means to achieve sustainable development goals. These conflicts and terrorist operations represent the greatest challenge to the development of any country. Killing, violence and destruction lead to the collapse of States and the eradication of the dreams of their youth. It should be noted that the Major Group of Africa is a grouping of all NGOs on the African continent, one of the continental clusters of the United Nations High-level political forum on achieving sustainable Development goals 2030. This group falls under one of the specific sectors of the NGO Committee.
