Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights Association delivered its oral statement in the presence of Israeli ministers during the HLPF session in New York where the state of Israel submitted its Voluntary National Review report.
The statement revealed the violations committed by Israeli occupying forces against Palestinians citizens; this included limitations imposed on citizens to access to food, water and basic living supplies. Maat association denounced the dismissal of the international mission by the Israeli occupied territories which made the situation more risky to what children faces every day. Maat for Peace also accused the occupying forces of the legislations which gives them the right to deport Palestinians from Jerusalem by demolishing their homes and prohibiting them the right to build by refusing to give permissions.
From his side; “Ayman Okeil” president of Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights Association confirmed that Israel continues to violate the rights of Palestinians neglecting the resolutions of the United Nations with the help of the major powers and that the Israeli occupation forces are practicing a kind of terrorism against the Palestinian citizens amid the total silence of the international community.
“Hagar Abdelmonsef” confirmed as well that the Palestinian case was and still the most important issue in the Arab world and that even with the different international events, the defense of the Palestinian cause is consistent with the belief of the Arab civil society in the right of the Palestinian people to enjoy their basic rights, and above all the right to development.
The statement ended with several questions raised to the Israeli ministers revealing the double standards and the false promotion by Israel in order to reflect an honorable picture of achieving the goals of sustainable development in the occupied area.
