Okeil: Peace and Development Makers Initiative has been launched 
Ayman Okeil, President of Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights, announced the implementation of Peace and Development Makers Initiative during the conference of the the Peace and Development Makers Forum held within the framework of the Arab Sustainable Development Week in Cairo.
He stated that the Initiative entitled “Strengthening the Role of Youth in Peace and Security in the Southern Mediterranean” will be carried out by Maat in the last week of December with the support and funding of he North-South-Center of the Council of Europe in Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. He added that  it is an initiative of the Council of Europe as part of a joint project with the European Union, entitled “Ensuring Sustainable Democratic Governance and Human Rights in the Southern Mediterranean.”
He stressed that it comes out of the vision of Maat that youth have the keys to the solution by virtue of their specific weight among the population of countries, and by being the most open to technology and cross-border communication platforms and the most absorbing of the achievements of the times.
Okeil concluded his speech on youth, saying: Let us extend our hands to the youth; let us live the dream with them; let them lead the world towards the better; let us leave them pure not bearing the legacy of the past and are not involved in the conflicts of the present; and are not forced to a future contrary to their dreams and aspirations.
