  2. Paul Biya, has been the Head of State of Cameroon since November 6, 1982. (About 37 years in power)
  3. Denis Sassou-Nguesso, President of the Republic of the Congo (first from 1979 to 1992 and then returned to office in 1997 until now, which is about 36 years in total in power)
  4. Yoweri Museveni has been the Head of State of Uganda since January 29, 1986. (About 33 years in power)
  5. Idriss Deby Itno, head of state of Chad since 1990 (nearly 30 years in power)
  6. Isaias Afewerki, Head of State of Eritrea since May 1993. (About 26 years in power)
  7. Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of Djibouti, has been in power since 1999. (About 21 years in power)
  8. Paul Kagame, has been President of the Republic of Rwanda since March 24, 2000. (About 20 years in power)
