Signing a cooperation protocol between the "Maat for Peace" and the "Diaconia Development" office

The General Director of Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights, Ayman Okeil, and the Patriarch Deputy for Patriarch Diocese Affairs who is also the official of the Episcopal Committee for Media, Anba Bakhoum, signed a protocol for joint cooperation between the association and the Diaconia Development Office of the Patriarchal Diocese of Coptic Catholics in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The signing of the protocol comes to activate the concept of participation, cooperation and integration between civil society organizations and affiliated entities to the religious institutions. As well, enhancing the community service in various fields, whether developmental or human rights. This protocol also supports the principle of the community and pastoral responsibility of the local church in a way that serves the citizen and the community to which it belongs, clearly, the Egyptian community.

The protocol included several areas for joint cooperation, including peace building and combating hate speech activities, strengthening the principles of human brotherhood and solidarity. In addition to the training and building capacities for effective participation in societal and development issues through grassroot initiatives.

Moreover, enhancing the capabilities of Egyptian youth and interested parties to engage in human rights work and actively participate in civil society activities without any discrimination on the basis of color, race, gender or religion. The will of the two parties converged here to coordinate and cooperate with each other, to employ their integrated expertise to serve the community, and working together to promote an inclusive community enjoys sustainable peace.
