Maat participates in a European program to support societal peace and reject hate speech and extremism

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights participates in the period between March 28 and April 4 in a youth program in cooperation with the European Union held in Poland on rejecting violence and extremism and supporting community peace. The program focuses on educating European and Arab youth about the importance of accepting others and respecting difference, in addition to highlighting the importance of tolerance values for the advancement of society. 22 young men and women from the European and Arab region participate in the program.

As a representative of the Egyptian civil society, Maat participated in a presentation that shed light on tolerance in Egyptian culture since ancient times and on ways to combat hate speech, especially on social media platforms. The delegation emphasized that civil society has a great responsibility in organizing awareness campaigns to support community peace and reject violence and intellectual and religious extremism.

It is worth noting that this program comes within the framework of Maat Foundation's cooperation with the European Union through the "Erasmus +" program to enhance the participation of Egyptian youth in European youth exchange programs.
