Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights carried out its tenth trip for the families of prisoners and detainees within the framework of implementing the activities of the project for the integrated protection of the families of prisoners and detainees - integration and rehabilitation. Which is implemented by the Foundation in cooperation with the Swiss Foundation Drosos
The integration and rehabilitation project is being implemented in the governorates of Cairo and Giza in six different areas: (Atfih - Al Maasara - Dar Al Salam and Al Basateen - Al Khalifa - Bulaq - Imbaba)
The trip benefited 33 children from the children of prisoners and detainees from the Dar Al Salam and Basateen area in Cairo Governorate.
The trip for the children witnessed a program full of educational, educational and entertainment items, based on environmental and movement games specially designed for children. The sections were prepared by a number of social and psychological specialists in the project.
The tenth trip witnessed a mixture of educational and entertainment methods in presenting the educational paragraphs, where specialists used a method (psycho-drama in presenting and discussing the concept of accepting the other / and introducing the concept of belonging, which increased the children's enjoyment and their willingness to participate)
The trip was also characterized by the number of practical paragraphs provided by the village of Fagnon, such as drawing with sawdust, as well as training children in preparing and making bread, displaying and explaining the stages of its manufacture, which has a great impact on the integration of children into their surrounding environment and knowledge of things and what they are and methods of manufacturing.
The vast green spaces in the village helped social workers to provide meditation and emotional relief sessions for the children participating in the trip.
In conclusion, Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights calls on the institutions and individuals of society to adopt the needs of the families and children of prisoners and reintegrate them into society again.
