A coordination meeting between the leaders of the global groups emerging from the Sustainable Development Forum

As the head of the group of major African organizations, a delegation from the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights held a coordination meeting in New York with the heads, coordinators and officials of some major groups emanating from the United Nations High-Level Forum on Sustainable Development in various regions of the world, and the meeting included Ayman Akil, President of the African Group, Leanne Hertel from the International Foundation for Public Participation, Dad Muhammad, Secretariat of the International Foundation for Public Participation, Daniel Pearl, representative of the Baha'i Community to the United Nations, Onsi Burke, Director of Family Policy and Coordinator for Asia, Henry Oricott, African Group.

The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the Sustainable Development Forum, dealt with getting to know the participants and evaluating the performance of major groups during the past year, which was agreed to be highly satisfactory performance. It was also discussed.  Next year’s proposals, which focused on developing a mechanism to document the group’s achievements and experiences and prepare regional reports on the group’s work. The participants also discussed arrangements for holding a general meeting for groups to elect one global coordinator and three members of the Coordinating Council. Participants also agreed to hold semi-annual meetings in Geneva and New York. .
