Crimes against humanity continue in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

# Civilian murders continue in conflicts across the Congo-DR Congo, amounting to crimes against humanity. In the past eight months alone, at least 1,300 civilians have been killed in these conflicts.

The latest of these atrocities was the killing of 16 civilians, including 5 children, in the restive Ituri region in eastern DRC.

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights condemns these brutal crimes. And it calls on the local authorities and the international community to make more efforts to stop these crimes and atrocities. It stresses the necessity of accountability and preventing impunity so that it does not recur in the future, in order to achieve the sixteenth goal of # Sustainable Development 2030
