Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights participated in the opening session of the high-level meeting of the Economic and Social Council on the political ministerial sector on the sidelines of the high-level political forum at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The session began with enthusiastic speeches from five young people of different nationalities representing regions of the world, in which they talked about the most important development problems that could have a long-term impact on the future. The session was moderated by Mrs. Inga Rhonda King, President of the Economic and Social Council, who announced the start of the Ministerial Meeting, which is being held to support the work of the High Level Political Forum. The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, also gave a speech in which he saluted the civil society leaders who helped achieve the 2030 Agenda so far and urged governments to make more efforts, especially in the areas of extreme poverty, inequality, and unemployment, and he expressed his concern about the inability of any country in the world.
