(Okail) from political factions to fix them self and use democracy inside to make it out side the walls of factions

- He stressed that the parties must separate the management of the newspaper that expresses it from the party so as not to happen like what happened to the Wafd Party.

Then he directed his question to representatives of the Al-Ghad and Nasserist parties about the most important obstacles facing party activity and the actual presence of parties in the Egyptian street.

At the beginning, Mr. Ahmed Hassan, Secretary General of the Nasserite Party, spoke. He emphasized that the multiplicity of parties is not an expression of democracy but rather a part of democracy. He said that the multiplicity of parties was not expressed in any of its third stages for the masses of the people, but rather for one sect such as the rich and landowners, and it did not express the poor of the Egyptian people.

- He stressed that political parties in Egypt do not have programs for the advancement of society, and that parties must be present among the masses.

- He emphasized that the most important obstacles to party work are the political parties law, which prohibits and forbids party work in universities, factories, etc., as well as the existence of the Party Affairs Committee, as well as the continuation of the emergency law, in which young people from the party were arrested in application of it, as well as the list 79 of universities.

- He said that the Muslim Brotherhood has freedom to carry out their activities better than the parties and they have money.

Then the advisor, Marsa Sheikh, spoke:

It is also certain that the parties do not have the capacity to fulfill their role. He attributed this in addition to the reasons given by Professor Ahmed Hassan to the struggle for power in the parties. Likewise, the desire of each party leader to have two weak and non-political deputies, for ease of control and exclusion of appearances.

And he presented the crisis of the Tomorrow Party, which he had hoped would come this liberal party, expressing the ambitions of its institution and its members. He said that the cause of the crisis and split was the party leader’s monopolization of decisions and the marginalization of the role of the rest of the founders and MPs. He said that there can be no reform in the presence of corrupt, counterfeiters and corrupt people everywhere and the control of the National Party and its government over everything.

With regard to the audience’s interventions, they were most enthusiastic:

In an intervention by Eng. Sherif Haddad: In it he defended party pluralism from 1919 to 1953 and said that the existence of capitalism at that time was patriotic and to confront the occupation and that the Egyptian people of all classes were gathering to defend national causes. He criticized the lack of association of political parties with the Egyptian street.

- He suggested that political parties should renew their thinking with regard to national issues, confronting America and imperialism, as well as defending the issues of freedoms.

He strongly criticized the Nasserist era and the abolition of the multiparty system under President Gamal Abdel Nasser.

Then the journalists asked the party representatives questions about why the parties did not tell the story of the politician? And why were you not on the street? And it trains its cadres. Why did the parties neglect social and economic issues? Why should the party leader remain in his position for life?

Lawyer Sharif Hilali asserted that the party system must be reformed and reorganized first, and she asks whether there is a will from the parties to reform themselves? He emphasized the amendment of the political parties law.

Some have asked whether the Nazarene party, with its ideas, is compatible today with the current situation? And does the Nasserite party not exist because it is derived from the name of President Abdel Nasser and bears the sins of the revolution?

Some asserted that what happened in the parliamentary elections was a "scandal for the parties". Likewise, the parties should reform themselves instead of criticizing the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood.

In the end

Ayman Akil emphasized that the aim of these seminars is to discuss the leaderships of the parties themselves in working to develop party performance, the existence of real pluralism, and raising the rate of participation in public life. And to get out of the legal and actual stalemate in which the parties currently exist.
