The joint international local mission to follow up the parliamentary elections “Egypt 2015” has completed its preparations to follow up the polling and counting in the first round of the governorates of the first phase in the Egyptian Parliament elections scheduled for voters in the Arab Republic of Egypt on Sunday and Monday corresponding to 18 and 19 October, as the mission covers 70 constituencies with teams of International and local followers.The local international mission meets the head of the Supreme Elections Committee 2

The mission had held a meeting this morning with Mr. Al-Qadi, Chairman of the Parliamentary Elections Committee, Ayman Abbas, and a number of members of the committee

 Where the mission listened to an explanation from the head of the committee regarding its preparations for the polling process and the facilities granted to international and local observers as well as the foreign media, and the impressions of the mission team were very positive during the meeting, as there is sufficient evidence of the efficiency and neutrality of the committee supervising the electoral process and its seriousness in providing an atmosphere that guarantees elections Free and fair.

The mission also met with Ambassador Salah Abdel Sadiq, head of the Egyptian State Information Service, to get acquainted with the facilities granted to foreign media outlets regarding their follow-up of the electoral process.

On the other hand, the mission completed the training of its international members (150 observers and international experts) to carry out field follow-up operations through 37 field teams and a central operating room working alongside 700 local field observers and 140 department officials as well as officials of the main operations room at Maat Foundation headquarters. For peace, development and human rights.

The mission had monitored, during the past hours, the launch of voting operations for Egyptians outside Egypt, and the mission did not receive any complaints or statements indicating negative aspects of the voting process.

With regard to the mission’s assessment of the Egyptian authorities ’dealings with international and local follow-up missions and organizations, the joint international and local mission confirms that it has not been exposed to any obstacles that limit its ability to fully follow up the entire electoral process freely, in addition to that it has not received any complaints from Egyptian civil society organizations. Exposing them to significant obstacles that may limit their ability and freedom to follow the electoral process.

It is worth noting that the joint international local mission, which includes three international organizations and a local Egyptian organization, is the largest ever among follow-up missions in the African continent, and it includes 300 observers and international experts, 2015 local observers, 75 translators, and has been following the electoral process continuously since January Non-stop past, the mission also plans to cover 80% constituencies in the field.
