The National Coalition for Rights and Development condemns the terrorist attacks in Sinai popular solidarity and international and regional powers support is a need to fight terrorism

The Egyptian National Alliance for Rights and Development expresses its strong condemnation of the treacherous terrorist practices that targeted the Armed Forces soldiers at some security points in North Sinai Governorate on Friday, October 24, 2014, and caused dozens of martyrs and wounded. The National Alliance for Rights and Development, with its "thousand" organizations in all governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt and its General Secretariat, extends its heartfelt condolences to the great Egyptian people, the families of the victims, and the military establishment that pays from the blood of its people the price for its bias towards the choices of the Egyptian people. Overlooked at that defining moment Egypt is going through: -

1- What is happening in Sinai is inseparable from what is happening in Syria, Iraq and Libya. Terrorist organizations move according to a single agenda and with unified tools, which confirms that the ultimate goal of these organizations - and those behind them - are specific and clear.

2- Terrorism and its organizations are part of an integrated strategy to fragment the region and exhaust its peoples and armies in internal battles to serve the goals of international and regional powers that do not want good for the peoples of the region.

3- Terrorism has become the most important challenge to achieving development and respecting human rights in Egypt after the June 30, 2014 revolution

4- The Muslim Brotherhood and its allies have become a political cover for the violence practiced in Egyptian society in general and in Sinai in particular, and the group’s relationship with financing and support of organized terrorist groups has become something closer to the truth than to the charges sent. If the civil coalition organizations confirm their standing with the national forces that reject the practices of terrorism and violence, they will seek in the coming period to raise societal awareness of the dangers of terrorism on the future development in Egypt, with the aim of forming a broad popular front that speaks out violence and combats terrorism. At the same time, the coalition organizations, on the occasion of Egypt's submission to the universal periodic review mechanism, call on all local and international civil society organizations, UN organizations and members of the United Nations Human Rights Council to give the issue of terrorism and its effects on achieving the goals of the January 25 and June 30 revolutions the attention it deserves during discussions and inviting the parties. International and regional efforts to support the Egyptian people and their armed forces in the war on terror. The coalition also calls on the Egyptian authorities to do everything in their power so that their legitimate and sacred war against terrorism does not affect the fulfillment of the obligations of the transitional period, abide by the provisions of the constitution and uphold the values of the rule of law.
