Maat for Peace, Development, and Human Rights launched a new training course on computer skills and its applications in El Koum El Ahmer district, Imbaba, in coordination with a local computer center. This is considered one of the activities of the project (Integrated Protection for the Families of Prisoners and Detainees – Integration and Rehabilitation) funded by the Swiss foundation DROSOS and seeks to improve economic, social and legal conditions of the families of prisoners and detainees in six districts in Cairo and Giza including; (Basateen, Khalifa, Imbaba, Boulaq, Helwan, and Atfeeh).

The training program seeks to provide prisoners and detainees children with computer skills to prepare them to the labor market.

The course consists of 20 training sessions, when the project seeks to reduce the marginalization, isolation, and loneliness of prisoners and detainees families in their communities, along with integrating them in the society. Integration and Rehabilitation project also seeks to improve those families access to their social and economic rights through the following mechanisms:

Helping prisoners and detainees’ students to get educational aid (exemption from schooling fees - get free tutoring groups – free school uniforms – trips – camps – and access to free educational aid).

Providing crafts training opportunities for members of target group including (sewing and making accessories).

Providing training opportunities on computer skills and its applications for members of the target group, along with providing jobs for them.

Providing social and legal help for prisoners and detainees families, enabling prisoners and detainees' families to obtain social security pension.

Providing trainings on getting loan and managing a small project to families of prisoners and detainees.

Assistance in obtaining a loan.
