Racial discrimination in the State of Iraq

Foundation progress Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights (Egypt) (Egypt) This report is in the context of its interest in promoting respect for human rights in the Arab region, and this report has been based on a methodology based on the international obligations of the State of Iraq under its ratification of international conventions, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, as Iraq is one of the first Countries that have ratified this agreement, as well as collecting and classifying available information on the human rights situation in Iraq from various sources, as well as communicating with a number of activists, actors and local stakeholders there in order to prepare this report.

In this report, the events and developments that have occurred in the human rights situation in Iraq will be shed light, especially with regard to the issue of racial discrimination, because Iraq has a diverse ethnic and religious composition, as Islam is the main religion of the state, but it is divided into "Sunnis and Shiites" in addition to the Christian religion. There are also different nationalities such as the Arab, Kurds, Shabaks, Armenians, Circassians, and many other nationalities.
