The dedicated computer for linking the social security pension forms of the poor families and prisoners’ families, works against the families not in their favor.

Maat for Peace, Development, and Human Rights concluded yesterday the second meeting of the community’s committees at the level of the governorates of Cairo and Giza, in the context of implementing the activities of the project of Integrated Protection for Families of Prisoners and Detainees – Integration and Rehabilitation- in six areas (Embaba- Boulaq- Masaraa- Atfih- Dar Al-salaam- Bassatin and Khalifa).
About (40) member representing the Social Solidarity, Education, Endowments, as well as active NGOs in the communities targeted by the project attended the meeting.
In the meetings there has been interaction between the attendees in terms of the recommendations. So the recommendations of the necessity of doing social researches in the unites of the Social Affairs, and directing them to the associations that provide in kind donations, as one of the proposed solutions to face the turnout of the families of the project to get the in kind donations to start their own small projects.
Providing free means of transportations for (15) families in the third Philanthropy day for the people of Atfih and Masaraa, was one of the proposed initiatives to facilitate the gathering of the people of Atfih and Masaraa during the next Philanthropy Day.
Organizing many awareness seminars for the families of different areas to raise the families’ awareness with the modern means of education, and the access to entitlements, rights, opportunities, and grants in the community.
They have also discussed the problem of stumbling of the access of the families of the prisoners to the guaranteed pension. And many of the Social Affairs representatives have explained that the problem is that the families cannot fulfill all the papers from one hand, and the poor quality of the computer responsible for linking the pension with the ministry on the other hand, in addition to the problem of power outage that cause many technical problems.
There has been coordination with the representatives of the NGOs’ Departments in the Ministry of Education to give great opportunities to the children of the prisoners to participate in the Department camps, which integrate them more and help them to the secure access to their rights.
So Maat invites all Civil Society Groups to come together and show solidarity to support the families of the prisoners and detainees with training grants and in kind donations and facilitate their access to loans and the opportunities to employ their children.
