The Parliamentary Elections Observatory, run by the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights, and affiliated to the joint international local mission to follow up on the parliamentary elections “Egypt 2015” continued to monitor the course of the electoral campaign.
Ayman Aqil, head of the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights and the official spokesperson for the mission stated that the field team monitored some violations related to the breach of timelines for electoral campaigning in the governorates of the second phase, and Aqil said that these violations - despite their presence - witnessed a noticeable decline from what was prevalent during the few days. In the past, however, the most prominent violations that were detected were the use of some candidates for sporting activities to promote themselves.
The field team had observed the candidate Muhammad al-Sayyid al-Salhi, known as “Muhammad al-Salhi”, organized the football tournament at the Al-Nujeel Industrial Stadium in Al-Kanayat City, affiliated to the Zagazig Center Department in the Sharkia Governorate. Coming.
In Dakahlia, the mission observed that two candidates, Ibrahim Anwar and Muhammad Najah al-Shuri, together with Dr. Muhammad Ghoneim and a number of supporters of the Front Alliance, entered the Taweelah Youth Center and called for their elections inside the youth center cafeteria, and they were hosted in the office of the center’s president.
The mission in Sharkia governorate also observed that the candidate, Doctor Sanaa Abu Samra, for the 10th of Ramadan district, organizing a medical convoy that included various specialties, and the convoy examined the people of the department and dispensed treatment for free.
In Cairo, the mission monitored the candidate Abdullah Moussa Hussein Al-Mutawali, whose fame is Abdullah Al-Mutawali, organizing a meeting with the youth of Al-Zahraa Street and demanding that young people obtain their national ID numbers to help them know their electoral committees and presented his election program to the youth.
The mission also monitored in the Gharbia governorate the nomination Fouad Al-Musalmani by raising banners inside the Basyoun Center with the symbol “Oud” written on it, the number “7” before the official launch date of the electoral campaign for the second-stage candidates
In the Sherbin district of the Dakahlia governorate, the mission observed that the candidate, Ihab El-Sallab, printed numbers of notebooks and class schedules for students and distributed them to the students when they entered and left the schools, putting his name, number, and the electoral symbol on the notebooks as well as the tables.
In the same context, competition between the first stage candidates intensified strongly, as the mission observed that most of the candidates organized conferences, meetings and daily tours in different areas within each candidate’s circle.
As part of its continuous follow-up to the decisions of the Supreme Committee, the joint local international mission followed up the statement issued by the committee, which clarified that the number of voters in the first stage reached 27,402,353 million individuals distributed among 103 public committees in 14 Egyptian governorates, with 14.1 million men and 13.2 million females
