The Daily Message for the International-Local Mission to Observe the Parliamentary Elections

Stage of receiving requests for willing to run for the Egyptian House of Representatives membership continued for the eighth day in a row, Parallel, the monitoring teams affiliated o the Local - International Joint Mission continued the work of mentoring for 164 constituencies which is up to 80% of the constituencies of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

In the beginning, The Mission would like to commend some positive decisions were taken by the Higher Election Committee and relating to the proper engages with the provisions of the Administrative Justice Court Judge invalidity of the fourth item of the Commission's decision No. 70. Related to the validity of the medical examinations conducted in last February for the applicants candidates for the upcoming elections, where the Commission decided to extend the period of opening the door to run on September 15 without modifying the rest of the announced schedule in order to accommodate the candidates submission of modern medical examinations.

In a parallel movement, the Mission observed that the Egyptian Ministry of Health double the hospitals number assigned to conduct the medical examination at the applicants to run, from 40-80 hospitals. As well as, extending the registration on medical boards' website in all provinces, with extended medical examination dates from the fifth to the ninth pm daily.

Mission also observed the contrast reactions of parties and electoral alliances on the ruling of the Administrative judiciary on the Committee decision of the invalidity of medical examinations, As well as, the judgment of accepting case against the new districts division law, issued by Law No. 88 of the year 2015. the Free Egyptian party and El Wafd party welcomed the decision, arguing that the acceptance of the court's decision is binding on all, and it will not affect the electoral process. While some of the electoral lists and alliances announced reviewing their position of the parliamentary elections, and studying withdrawal from the elections, such as "Nedaa Misr" list and "Shwet Misr" or "awakening of Egypt" list.

On the ground, the Mission observed the number of the candidacy submitted on the individual seats till the closing of the committees last evening is 4273 applications, which shows the limited numbers registered yesterday, which are137 candidates for 212 candidates in the previous day. El Nour party, as well, submitted with two lists for the east of Delta and the Upper Egypt, the lists submitted until yesterday reached to three lists only.

During yesterday the demonstrations rose in different provinces in minor rates, where a series of demonstrations of the powers against the electoral process were monitored in the provinces of Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Giza, and Damietta. Also two improvised explosive devices were monitored , one of them in Alexandria in the vicinity of Faros university, Smouha area, east of Alexandria, and the other was in Wady El Netrun, of Beheira governorate, and the explosions did not result in any injuries.
