The alliance launched by Maat on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Peace last September, has been met with dozens of positive responses from a variety of civil society organizations at the Arab, African, and international levels, where the membership of the alliance is still an important group From non-governmental organizations in France, Lebanon, Rwanda, Tunisia, Jordan, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Italy, the United States of America, Morocco, Kuwait, Yemen, Sudan, Sweden, Palestine, Iraq, and the coalition is expected to be announced Officially in early 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Mediterranean Citizenship Association seeks to spread the principles and values related to mutual respect, tolerance, care, peace, unity and diversity in the Euro-Mediterranean region, which will be pursued through joint cooperation with the members of the Alliance.

The protocol signed between Maat and a Mediterranean Citizen stipulated the two parties' intention to implement activities aimed at achieving the goals of the International Alliance for Peace and Development, which are to improve human rights conditions and confront attempts to undermine peace and violence, terrorism and intimidation, and to work effectively through international, regional and national forums and mechanisms to stop the spread of these practices that It opposes human values and threatens world peace, and calls for improvement of public policies related to supporting peace and countering violence, terrorism and extremism.

It is worth noting that the International Alliance for Peace and Development stems from the ground of the moral responsibility of civil society organizations in peacemaking, and the human rights values that have been agreed upon by the world since 1948 and included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, then expressed in detail the package of human rights conventions and covenants adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, in succession. The coalition will include organizations interested in issues of peace, democracy, human rights and countering extremism and terrorism across the world.
