The International Network for Rights and Development loses contact with two of its staff in Qatar

While they were in Qatar to follow up a report on employment in Qatar, the human rights activist (Krishna Prasad Obadia), who works as a researcher at the main office in Norway, called and informed by text message that he and his colleague, photographer (Jeremy Gundev) are being harassed and pursued by the Qatari police, as the network management asked them to leave Qatar immediately. The network has confirmed that its British citizen employees (Krishna and Jeremy) left the hotel and headed to the airport and that they disappeared from the airport. The International Network for Rights and Development holds the Qatari authorities fully responsible for the safety of the human rights activist (Krishna) and his colleague (Jeremy) and considers that they have been subjected to kidnapping and enforced disappearance at the hands of the Qatari authorities. The International Network confirms that it has taken all necessary legal measures and that it will pursue the highest levels of the Qatari government in the event that its employees are subjected to any kind of psychological or physical pressure. The network confirms that it has started intensive contacts with the ministries of foreign affairs and the High Commissioner for Human Rights in order to establish the full facts about the responsibility of the Qatari authorities. The Qatari authorities are required to immediately disclose the fate of the human rights activist (Krishna) and his fellow photographer (Jeremy) and to provide full information about their fate.
