Food against chaos .. Maat warns of chaos due to hunger

At a time when the world is facing the # COVID-19 pandemic, the repercussions and impacts of the pandemic are increasing. A new UN estimates indicated that 270 million people will face food insecurity "before the end of this year" due to being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This represents an increase of 82% than the number of hungry people before the outbreak of the pandemic.

On the African continent, western and central Africa is witnessing an increase in the number of people who suffer from hunger, as their percentage has reached 135% of the number of people suffering from food insecurity, as well as the case in southern Africa #, which witnessed an increase of 90%.

The Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights warns of these repercussions that multiply the number of hungry people in the world, especially on the African continent. It also warns that the acute shortage of food may push more chaos in various forms to counteract the severity of the impact.

The Maat Foundation includes its voice for the UN voices seeking to remedy these repercussions early on by donors and relief agencies, so that they do not turn into a major humanitarian disaster in the near future.
