Community committees for the integration and rehabilitation project for prisoners 'families nomination for the Aid Committee at the Ministry of Endowments and the Productive Families Committee in the departments of Social Solidarity and facilitate procedures for re-enrolling prisoners' children in schools

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights has implemented three community committee meetings in the regions of Imbaba - Dar Al Salam and Al Basateen - and Atfih, within the framework of the implementation of the activities of the Integrated Protection Project for the Families of Prisoners and Detainees - Inclusion and Rehabilitation, which is implemented by the Foundation with funding from the Swiss Foundation Drosos in Cairo and Giza governorates. The integrated protection project for the families of prisoners and detainees is being implemented in six separate areas at the level of the two governorates, namely (Dar al-Salam, al-Basateen and al-Khalifah - Imbaba and Bulaq - al-Maasara and Atfih)
The three meetings were attended by representatives of social solidarity departments in the targeted areas, as well as representatives of educational departments and a number of community leaders and representatives of trusteeships and NGOs in each region, with the aim of creating local networks supporting families in the targeted areas (and within a networking framework) for communication. The three are within (eighteen community committee meetings) planned for the project to support the activities and services provided to the group in the targeted areas
The three meetings included a detailed presentation of the project's achievements and a detailed description of the roles of the members of the committees. The meetings also addressed a number of problems facing the target group in each of the three regions (re-registration procedures facing families to return their children who have dropped out of education - and procedures for families to obtain. On the security pension and the length of the disbursement period - and on the need for families who have received vocational and professional training in the project to obtain loans for the work of their own projects that generate income for them that improve their economic opportunities
Among the results of the meetings, representatives of the Social Security Administration in different regions presented (listing the families wishing to obtain a security pension to make them aware of the required procedures and papers), as well as (nominating those who received a security pension from them to the Productive Families Committee to obtain donations of his eyes for the work of small economic projects to increase income). Also (enumerating the families of prisoners and linking them to the aid committee of the Ministry of Endowments, and the Zakat committees.)
The NGO Department in the Ministry has expressed its willingness to cooperate in facilitating the procedures for re-registration in the various departments in which the project works in support of the children of prisoners and their right to education. And the departments of social solidarity in the three regions have expressed their willingness to conduct security research for all families and present them to obtain security pensions. In the work of projects to obtain security grants to implement small projects
Representatives of civil societies and community leaders suggested implementing a number of meetings to raise awareness of their rights. And the formation of a network of relationships in support of the needs of families in each region and the implementation of a number of educational-behavioral seminars for children hosted by each association from the associations of the region closest to the beneficiary families.
Maat calls on all sectors of civil society to join hands and solidarity to support and support the families of prisoners and detainees.
