The written intervention on the human rights situation in Yemen

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights (Egypt) submits this report to clarify its comment on the human rights situation in Yemen

The Houthi militia committed, during the four years, many crimes and violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law, which varied between killing, injury, torture, kidnapping, arbitrary arrest, enforced disappearance, child recruitment, city sieges and bombing of homes. The United Nations and international organizations have documented hundreds of violations committed by the parties to the conflict, which cause the ongoing conflict. In the killing of thousands and the injury of millions, in addition to the spread of dangerous epidemics such as cholera, the most dangerous thing to which Yemen is exposed is famine. The conflict has led to the escalation of a truly severe humanitarian crisis, and this crisis is man-made, and with the deepening of the war, the exacerbation of the humanitarian situation, and the impediment of all parties in the delivery of humanitarian aid. More than 22.2 million Yemenis depend on humanitarian aid to survive.
