Today, June 23, 2019, the activities of the training course held by the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights began in Geneva, Switzerland, on the sidelines of the 41st session of the Human Rights Council.

Ayman Aqil, head of the joint mission, the head of the Maat Foundation, and the human rights expert, stressed in his opening speech the importance of training at that time and how four organizations (Maat Foundation, the International Alliance for Peace and Development, the International Consulting Group and Partners for Transparency) managed to cooperate and partner to form the largest civil society mission involved in the work 41st session of the Human Rights Council

The training includes theoretical lectures and practical exercises within the Rights Council. The mission will participate in all the activities of the Council, including seminars, written and oral interventions.

The human rights expert and trained on the periodic review / Walaa Abbas emphasized the importance of training Arab, African and European youth together and creating youth leaders capable of understanding international mechanisms and dealing under them, and during her speech, she was keen to raise the awareness, skills and capabilities of trainees about the concept of human rights and its origins and United Nations bodies

In the coming days, the training will deal with contractual and non-contractual mechanisms

  (Treaty committees, special mandate-holders, complaints and the universal periodic review)

From him, Allah Abdul Raouf, the mission coordinator, confirmed that this training is the first stage, and the program will not stop at the training in Geneva, but there will be implementation on the ground in many Arab, European and African countries.
