The United Nations currently deploys peacekeepers to seven missions in # Africa. Taking into account that African countries are the most contributors of troops to those missions, and the missions of the African Union also cooperate with them in one way or another in other places. These missions are:

1. The United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic
2. The United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
3. The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali
4. The United Nations Force in Sudan
5. The United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara
6. The United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan
7. The United Nations and African Union Mission in Darfur
8. African Union Mission in Somalia

These missions help achieve the African Union's goal of “# Silence_guns by 2020” in accordance with Agenda 2063, and also contribute to advancing # Target_16 of #_Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
