Maat Foundation’s comment on the report of the Special Rapporteur on the environment during the activities of the 55th session of the Human Rights Council, in which it warned against the activity of the French company Total in Yemen, which led to the black water disaster in Hadhramaut Governorate. Maat supported the lawsuit filed by Yemeni citizens in January 2024. Before the French court of Nanterre, it also demanded that the Special Rapporteur put pressure on the French government to urge the company to compensate local residents.
