Report on the Forms of Contemporary Slavery (Model of Qatar)

Modern slavery is defined as the use of violence, deceit, or threat to entrap human beings, forcing them to forced labor, sexual exploitation and forced domestic service. The global index of slavery in 2018 showed that about 4 thousand people (or 1.50 per thousand people in Qatar) live in modern slavery, Pointing out that 37.72 per 100 people are subjected to slavery, and Qatar, which has a population of 2.4 million, topped the list of countries least supportive of the government's response to reducing slavery, according to the index.

As the index also indicated that men, women and children are subject to modern slavery, by buying and selling them in public markets, as women are forced to marry against their will, and to provide employment under the guise of marriage.
