Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (2)

 "The Right to Food in Egypt"

Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights presents this report on the policies and strategies adopted by the Egyptian government to achieve goal (2) of the sustainable development agenda. This goal focuses on eliminating hunger. This report comes in the context of the joint work agenda of the world on the goals of sustainable development 2030, which was established in 2015 to complement the Millennium Development Goals agreed in 2000. These goals seek to eradicate poverty and hunger, expand education opportunities and other policies on a long-term inter-State working agenda.

The vision of Egypt in 2030 coincided with the international efforts to reach an ambitious agenda for international development, which is a necessary step through sustainable development. The joint and common responsibility in facing challenges has been taken into consideration. Therefore, the Egyptian Prime Minister had decided to form a national committee to follow up the implementation of sustainable development goals. The committee's functions are assigned to the Ministry of International Cooperation and some organs and government centers, including the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, which have taken many strategies.
