Foundation progress , Maat for Peace, Development, and Human Rights Maat analyzed the documents and results of the second cycle of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Turkey in January 2015. 278 recommendations were made to Turkey, of which 215 accepted and 63 rejected. The Government of Turkey commits major violations of fundamental human rights on a daily basis, in particular the freedom of expression. Also, it practices torture against opponents and persecutes minorities.
