Report submitted to the independent expert on the situation of human rights in the Central African Republic

The Central African Republic is one of the poorest countries in the world, despite its rich mining resources in diamonds and gold, but the economic and political conditions in it are deteriorating and greatly confused, and the country is making strenuous efforts to overcome the civil war in Central Africa, which broke out in 2013, after the overthrow of the President Francois Bozize, who belongs to the Christian religion, at the hands of the rebels from the "Seleka" group, whose members are mostly radical Islamists. It is worth noting that in retaliation for Bozize's overthrow, the Christians who supported him formed security units, and they called them "Anti Palaka", and it stood between the two groups mainly And some other armed groups have conflicts in which thousands have died, and acts of violence have displaced a quarter of the Central African Republic’s 4.5 million population. The human rights conditions in the country are still subjected to serious violations, especially in light of the interference of some regional countries such as Qatar and Israel in the internal affairs. Support some parties to the ongoing conflict in Africa.

And recently in February 2019, the government of the Central African Republic and 14 armed groups reached a peace agreement in order to put an end to the conflict that lasted for several years, which resulted in the killing and displacement of thousands, but this agreement does not give an optimistic indication of the course of events, as this is the seventh peace agreement that It has been reached since 2012, and peace talks have been interrupted several times due to some outstanding and contentious issues, chief among them the rebels ’demand for amnesty for all the crimes committed, and despite these peace gestures, violence is still continuing across the country, and as a result of those talks, they were implemented. The armed group "Union for Peace", several attacks in Central and Central Africa, and the six previous peace agreements between the conflicting parties did not lead to the restoration of stability in this troubled African country, and as a result of those events, the United Nations deployed 12,000 peacekeepers, In this report, we will address the human rights situation in the Central African Republic, and review the interventions of some countries in the internal affairs, which will make the situation worse.
