Pasha: The sanctity of schools is violated by the Israeli authorities

In light of the continuing violations committed by the Israeli authorities against the Palestinian people, and the imposition of restrictions on the most basic Palestinian rights to sustainable and safe education, Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights announced in an intervention before the Human Rights Council that the Israeli authorities announced in early 2019 the withdrawal of UNRWA school permits, which constitute The ratio of 70.1% is nothing but a continuation of the violations committed by the occupation authorities, for the sake of the slow killing of the occupied Palestinian people.

During the year 2017, the occupation forces attacked more than 95 schools, and 80,279 students and 4,929 teachers and employees were subjected to attacks by the occupation forces, which varied between martyrs and injuries, arrests, detention, house arrest, delays at checkpoints, and denial of safe access to schools.

He described Abd al-Rahman Pasha; The researcher at the Maat Foundation stated that the occupation authorities did not hesitate to attack a large number of schools, which have become permissible for them. He called for the necessity to pressure Israel to withdraw the permits for UNRWA schools and to stop the attacks on students and teachers.

It is worth noting that the Maat Foundation participates in the work of the 41st session of the Council’s work with an international mission consisting of 26 individuals from 8 European and African countries. The Maat Foundation also holds a number of seminars and meetings on the sidelines of the session.
