The Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights expresses its concern about the persistent news that the #-Libyan Government of Accord - which has expired - has allowed the Turkish government to lease the Libyan port of Misurata for a period of 99 years to establish its own naval base, which allows Turkey to continue its violations on Libyan territory.

All of this comes in conjunction with the deployment of drones at the # Wataniya Air Base, west of Tripoli, and the recent agreement between # Qatar and # Turkey to send military advisors to the Government of National Accord, as well as in light of the continuous armament and the transfer of # mercenaries that have not stopped until today.

The Maat Foundation warns of the deceptive calm that currently prevails in # Libya, and the continuous mobilization of war despite all international calls for the necessity of an immediate ceasefire and a halt to sending mercenaries and returning to the # negotiation table again.
