About the Academy:
Civitas Academy is a program for leadership development and democratic education, implemented by many partners from the Arab region and Europe. The "Civitas Academy" is the first of its kind in the Arab world as a regional program that aspires to deal with the changes in the Arab arena in the wake of the awakening and the qualitative transformation in the wake of the Arab revolutions against the ruling dictatorships, as it was the collapse of the prevailing dictatorial regimes - which were seen as regimes. Impenetrable and impenetrable - the most prominent role in opening the way towards rebuilding Arab societies politically and democratically and working to achieve the rule of social justice, the spread of freedoms and respect for human rights.
The idea of forming the academy revolves around activating and authorizing young leaders to take their role in planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating all policies and real needs of Arab youth and thus work to build their capabilities to participate in the establishment of a democratic system that respects human freedoms and procedures aimed at developing society, in a manner that guarantees the rights of Youth and meeting their future needs without wasting their rights to the national wealth and the nation’s capabilities, in what is known as emancipation development. The Academy also seeks to enable Arab youth to play an active and proactive role in managing an in-depth dialogue with their European youth counterparts in order to form common agendas and interests with the aim of forming a pressure public opinion among European youth movements that would lead to change in the policies of their European governments towards the region on the basis of respecting human rights principles. , International charters and treaties, and the presumed good-neighborliness principles declared by the European Union in what is known as the “good-neighborly policy”.
Hence the idea of the "Civitas Academy", which seeks to consolidate democracy by contributing to building a leadership generation of promising young people prepared in advance to keep pace with the democratic transition so that they will be able to build constitutional and legal foundations within the standards of effective democratic behavior throughout the Mediterranean.
Fields of Training:
Participants in Cairo will receive 14 training days training. Training will be based primarily on the best approaches, theories and best training practices, on several topics, the most important of which are:
Planning for democracy.
• Mechanisms of change and democratization of the effects of the political challenge.
Methods of protest and nonviolent struggle.
Methods of political, economic and social non-cooperation.
Foundations of nonviolent interventions.
• Mobilization, advocacy and networking.
• Shifts in political strategies.
selection criteria:
15 participants from civil society institutions who wish to sharpen their capabilities for effective participation in society are young people between 22-35 years of age from Palestine, Egypt and Libya.
Selection criteria include: gender diversity, sectoral background such as youth sector, culture, education, health, politics and democracy, human rights, environment and natural disasters DRR, gender, etc. In order for her to later work to participate in the decision-making process and conflict resolution skills, in the field of work to which the graduates of the Academy belong
