The children bloodshed from Gaza to Assiut, the innocence pays for the world's silence on Israel's crimes and the Egyptian government inaction regards reforming public services

A week of bloodshed and the responsible is well known, in Gaza, the innocent children bloodshed continues along with bombing civilian homes and media institutions as a result of the major countries collusion against Gaza and the inability of UN agencies to prevent Israel's violations to human rights conventions. Meanwhile, in the neglected Upper Egypt, 51 children pay their lives due to negligence, government inaction and the absence of genuine reform to the state facilities.

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights condemned the recent events in Palestine and the silence of the world on the continuous Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza, Maat considers this aggression as a part of the Israel violations and lack of respect for the principles of human rights and binding international decisions.

The Foundation reminds the world's major countries, UN agencies and human rights organizations of the previous Gaza clashes in 2008/2009 when the human rights system mobilized to monitor and document Israel's crimes against humanity till the issuance of the Goldstone report to admit Israel's crimes against humanity, while challenging the world by repeating its aggression under the world's continuant silence and the world's actors collusion.

The lack of any governmental action and inability of the UN Security Council to condemn Israel's aggression, Maat Foundation demands the UN Human Rights Council to adopt consistent attitudes with the Council's basic references and to prevent the Israel's violations to the rights of the unarmed Palestinians in Gaza, the Foundation also demands the human rights organizations and actors to expose Israel's crimes along with popular movements to expose Israel's systematic crimes to the world.

On the national level, our hearts go out for the murder of 51 children and injury of 17 in a train crash with a school bus in Southern Egypt, and Maat Foundation holds the government responsible for the accident, represented in the Ministry of Transportation, Egyptian Railway Authority and the governorate of Assiut and believes that negligence is the direct reason for the heinous crime.

The Foundation also demands the necessity to put plans to express an integrated vision to reform the state facilities and public services, which couldn't be achieved without activating the citizens participation along with civil society organizations on the national level in managing and observing those services, beside the necessity for the state to pump sufficient investments in the deteriorated sectors in terms of services specially the transportation services.

Maat stresses on the fact that political and Judicial accountability to the responsible in this crime should include the both the present and previous executives instead of discharging the current executive or holding junior employees accountable for the accident.
