The Presidency of the Egyptian National Network concludes the second meeting of the network in 2014 entitled "Supporting the role of the national network in promoting the culture of dialogue - experiences and experiences"

Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights organized the second meeting of the Egyptian Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation 2014 entitled “Supporting the role of the national network in promoting a culture of dialogue - experiences and experiences” on October 18, 2014 in Cairo, and the meeting comes within the framework of the strategic plan for developing the network - the sixth step implemented by Maat Foundation as Head of the Egyptian Network with the support of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures. The implementation of the sixth step activities continued between November 2013 and October 2014, and the sixth step included a set of activities represented in two meetings of the member and non-member organizations of the network in addition to the network activity entitled “Try to talk” through which a training workshop was held, developing and printing an educational booklet and carrying out a theatrical work. 62 participants from civil society organizations that are members and not members of the network participated in the meeting, and the meeting aimed to build the institutional capacity of members through participatory training based on presenting the experiences of leading organizations in using specific approaches or methods to promote a culture of dialogue such as arts, alternative media, social marketing, human rights approaches. . The best practices presented by the member organizations during the meeting included the following topics: dialogue and local development, media and the arts in serving dialogue issues, education on dialogue, youth dialogue. The meeting began with a presentation on the part of the Presidency of the Egyptian Network on work developments over the previous period, followed by an opening speech by the Master. Francisco Vega, the new director of the Network Coordination Unit at the Anna Lindh Foundation, was followed by the presentation of the Anna Lindh 2014 report on intercultural trends and social change by the woman. Leonora Insalaku, Director of Follow-up and Programs and Coordinator of the Anna Lindh Report, who received great interest from the participants in the meeting to discuss the findings of the report. In addition to the presentation of a brief presentation on the Institution for Intercultural Communication by the professor. Noha Sharaki, the volunteer in the Foundation, for organizations interested in working with youth and exchange, the best practices were presented by 4 of the member organizations, which included presentations for 1) the Bridges project, which was implemented by the Arab Organization for International Cooperation and presented by the doctor. Hanan Youssef, CEO of the Foundation, 2) the cultural integration project for youth with disabilities that was implemented by the Society for Community Development and Care for Children with Special Needs in Sohag and presented by Professor. Ayman Siddiq, Executive Director of the Foundation, 3) the community dialogue project in South Sinai that was implemented by Youth Without Borders Association and presented by Professor. Mahmoud Sorour, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and 4) the Youth Dialogue Forum which was implemented by the Free Egypt Society in Minya and presented by Professor. Iman Mohamed Abdellah, General Director of the Association The meeting sought to network between old members and new members and organizations wishing to join the network, to provide opportunities for forming partnerships, and to provide participants with a set of tools that enable them to establish a dialogue in their local communities, in addition to receiving proposals and recommendations to develop the network's work in the future.
