The clergy of Batfih call on the community to adopt the recommendations of the round table for the integration and rehabilitation project

Within the framework of implementing the activities of the project (integration and rehabilitation) and supporting the role of religious leaders in motivating societies to help the families of prisoners and detainees) Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights concluded yesterday its ninth round table at the Atfih Center in Giza Governorate.
This meeting comes within the activities of the integrated protection project for the families of prisoners and detainees “integration and rehabilitation” funded by the Swiss Drosos Foundation, which is being implemented in the governorates of Cairo and Giza in the regions of (Imbaba - Bulaq Dakrur - Atfih - Al Khalifa - Al Basateen and Dar Al Salam - Helwan and Al Maasara)

The meeting was implemented in the presence of (16) participants from the Islamic and Christian religious leaders, and the dialogue dealt with the role of religious institutions in adopting the families of the marginalized, including the families of prisoners, and how to direct the religious discourse to call for compassion and social solidarity between members of society and these families among us to urge the community to support families Prisoners and detainees and their reintegration.
Religious leaders have warned all segments of society against general judgment on the family and taking it with the guilt of the mistake of one of its members, which will result in isolating it from life and inflicting collective punishment on the family.
The table also dealt with the mediating role that religious institutions play between marginalized families and the needy, and between the rich and able in society on the one hand, and between service institutions and the community on the other hand, such as the unit of social affairs.
The attendees interacted greatly in expressing their opinions regarding these families and the services and assistance that they will provide to them.
The table resulted in a number of voluntary and community initiatives for the attendees, such as “organizing a meeting to suit the endowments and conveying the table’s message to them. Networking some families and cases with managing the workforce to take advantage of new employment opportunities - Organizing tutoring classes for children - Facilitating the entry of children of prisoners to school computer centers in the summer activities
