Somalia does not cooperate with the UN mechanisms

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights (Egypt) submits this report if it notices that the Somali government is not committed to any of the UN mechanisms, but the situation worsens due to the expulsion of UN officials, especially the most senior UN official in Somalia, the representative of the Secretary-General, and the head of the United Nations mission to provide assistance to Somalia (UNSOM). This may tighten the noose on UN officials and expose them to pressure while performing their duties. 

Given the status of the Federal Republic of Somalia in terms of contracting committees, it is definitely a cause for concern about preserving the basic principles of human rights, as the state has ratified only 6 treaties, the most recent of which is the “Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” that Somalia ratified in October 2018, and it has not entered into force. Until now. Somalia has not yet ratified the Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, and the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families
