The Parliamentary Elections Observatory of the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights continues to monitor all the course of the electoral process in ten governorates, which include 94 electoral districts.

Ayman Aqil, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights stated that one of the most prominent violations committed by the candidates during the second phase are the promises of employment. Some businessmen candidates also provide a number of jobs to some of the district’s youth, and we have monitored this in more than one electoral district.

Aqeel also stated that there are some candidates who donate some medical equipment to hospitals and medical centers within their departments, which is against the law and falls under electoral bribes.

In this context, the election observatory of the Maat Foundation monitored the nomination, Sherif Hammouda, of the Al-Khalifa and Al-Muqattam constituency, announcing the provision of 2,500 job opportunities for the youth of the constituency. The candidate also, during the organization of an electoral conference for the Rum neighborhoods in al-Darb al-Ahmar, used children to distribute paper propaganda.
