Maat commented on the annual report issued by the Expert Mechanism on the Right to Development, that tackled the right to development especially in the least developed countries, on the sidelines of participation in the 54th session of the Human Rights Council, where it highlighted the challenges of sustainable development in developing countries, with a particular focus on #foreign_debts.
In this regard, Maat recommended the necessity of debt governance and encouraging the governments of developing countries to redirect their investments towards sustainable development policies that are equitable, comprehensive and based on human rights.
