In the context of the Integration and Rehabilitation project's closing conference More than 3,000 beneficiaries of the implemented project in collaboration between MAAT and DROSOS Foundations

The Swiss “Drosos” Foundation “Egypt Office” and Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights held the final conference of the project “Integrated Protection for Families of Prisoners and Detainees” (Integration and Rehabilitation), on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, as a culmination of the project that was implemented over more than three years years in 6 regions and administrative districts belonging to the governorates of Cairo and Giza, and more than three thousand people belonging to more than 650 families benefited from it, through an integrated package of training and rehabilitation services and assistance in accessing job opportunities and various economic and social development opportunities, as well as educational assistance, legal advice and support Psychological and social.
Mr. Ayman Abdel Mawgood, General Director of the Non Governmental Associations Directorate at the Ministry of Solidarity as a representative of the Minister of Social Solidarity, conveyed the greetings of the Minister for the participants in the conference, and stressed on the ministry's support for civil society and its interest in the identification of successful experiences in the implementation of development projects.
Dr. Wesam ElBey, Regional Director at Drosos Foundation took the floor and pointed out the role of Drosos Foundation in supporting the marginalized and vulnerable groups through its work in Egypt over the past years since 2008, she ensured that Drosos Foundation supported about 45 development projects in Egypt, including 21 projects are still under implementation.
Mr. Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, Director General of the Civil Associations Department at the Ministry of Solidarity, on behalf of the Minister of Social Solidarity, also spoke during the conference, where he conveyed the minister's greetings to the participants in the conference, stressing the ministry's support for civil society and its interest in learning about successful experiences in implementing development projects.
Dr. Walaa Gad ElKarim, the Project Director presented the most important results and successes that have been achieved over the past years, and the number of beneficiaries of the project various services.
During the conference, the supportive institutions and personalities of the project were recognized, the success stories of the families of prisoners and detainees who benefited from the project services were presented, and a show by Tawasol Group was presented including a number of patriotic songs.
It is worth mentioning that Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights was established in 2005 as a Non Governmental Organization working in several fields related to the promotion and respect for human rights, support for democracy and good governance, and development of marginalized groups.
Drosos Foundation is working in Egypt since 2007 and supported about 45 project serving a broad groups of beneficiaries, such as children and youth and women's heads.
