over two days; June 6 and 7, Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights participated in webinar on the generalization of flexible laws to protect women and girls in Africa, within the framework of the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on Women’s Rights in Africa of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, Commissioner janet Salah, in addition to the presence of representatives of the Women’s Section and Gender, Development and Youth at the African Union Commission and representatives of UN Women at the African Union Commission.

This event came within the framework of seeking to implement the Protocol on Women's Rights in the African Continent, especially in light of the spread of gross violations against women and girls, since the African Charter does not include all rights for women, so the Maputo Protocol works to protect and guarantee women's rights, and seeks to promote Flexible laws that contribute to improving the rights of women and girls on the African continent.
