In light of its review in the third cycle of the universal periodic review

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights issued a report on the human rights situation in the Sultanate of Oman

The Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review, established in accordance with Human Rights Council resolution 5/1, held its thirty-seventh session from 18 to 29 January 2021.

The review of the Sultanate of Oman was conducted at the eighth session, on January 21, 2021. The Oman delegation was headed by the Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Saeed Al-Saeedi, and at its fourteenth session, on January 26, 2021, the Working Group adopted the Oman report..

Also, a list of questions prepared by Belgium, Canada, Fiji, Germany, Liechtenstein, Panama, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, was also transmitted to the Sultanate by the Troika Group (Malawi - Uzbekistan - Ukraine).

During the interactive dialogue, 99 delegations made statements and submitted to the Sultanate 264 recommendations regarding them and their position on implementing the recommendations by the 47th session of the Human Rights Council in June 2021.
