Ethiopian forces occupy parts of Sudan's border lands

The President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah # Al-Burhan, announced the seizure of Ethiopian forces on a large part of the lands in the state of Gedaref on the borders between the two countries, in the first official Sudanese recognition of the Ethiopian occupation of the lands east of # Sudan.

“After the shepherds lost their livestock and farmers lost their lands, the armed forces could only intervene to protect them, after the Ethiopian escalation.” While it was confirmed that a member of the army was killed and two wounded, during an attack by Ethiopian forces on Sudanese territory recently.

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights believes that this Ethiopian behavior can only be described as "occupation", and is a continuation of the policy of imposing fait accompli that # Ethiopia has recently pursued in its policies. The Foundation condemns this Ethiopian behavior and demands that Ethiopia respect the sovereignty of its neighboring countries.
