Community Committees at Khalifa and Boulaq Confine the families of prisoners and detainees to facilitate access to social security pension

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights implemented two community committee meetings in the areas of (Bulaq - Al-Khalifa), within the framework of implementing the activities of the Integrated Protection Project for the Families of Prisoners and Detainees - Inclusion and Rehabilitation, which the Foundation is implementing with funding from the Swiss Foundation Drosos in the governorates of Cairo and Giza. The integrated protection project for the families of prisoners and detainees is being implemented in six separate areas at the level of the two governorates, namely (Dar Al-Salam, Al-Basateen and Al-Khalifa - Imbaba and Bulaq - Al-Maasara and Atfih)
Socialists attended by (10) individuals for each meeting, they are the total formation of the community committee in each of the project areas.

Each of the two meetings included representatives of social solidarity administrations in the targeted areas, as well as representatives of educational departments, a number of community leaders, representatives of trusteeships and civil associations in each region, with the aim of creating local networks supporting the families of prisoners and detainees in the targeted areas (and within a network framework) to communicate with The prisoners of prisoners and detainees. These three meetings are part of (eighteen community committee meetings) planned for the project to support the activities and services provided to the children and families of prisoners and detainees in six areas at the level of Cairo and Giza governorates, which are the project work areas.

The social workers included a detailed presentation of the project's achievements and a detailed description of the roles of the two community committee members. The meeting also addressed a number of problems facing the beneficiaries in each of the three regions (re-registration procedures facing families to return their children who have dropped out of education - and procedures for families to obtain On the security pension and the length of the disbursement period - and on the need for families who have received vocational and professional training in the project to obtain loans for the work of their own projects that generate income for them that improve their economic opportunities
From the results of the meeting, representatives of the Social Security Administration in the different regions were asked (listing the families wishing to obtain a security pension to inform them of the required procedures and papers and submitting them to the Security Administration to facilitate their obtaining security pensions). Representatives of civil societies and community leaders suggested implementing a number of meetings to raise awareness of the beneficiaries of their rights. And the formation of a network of relationships supportive of the needs of the families of prisoners and detainees in each region and the implementation of a number of educational-behavioral seminars for children hosted by each association from the associations of the region closest to the beneficiary families.
