Maat: Israel's attack on Lebanon is a violation of the principle of state sovereignty

Aqil: Israel is violating the maintenance of international peace and security by attacking Lebanon

The Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights condemns the blatant attack that Israel carried out on the sovereignty of the Lebanese state, with its attack by drones loaded with explosive materials in the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the launching of flare bombs at several areas near the border strip in Lebanon. As a result, the remnants of one of the bombs were dropped inside the Indian battalion operating in the framework of the United Nations Interim Force in southern Lebanon, which led the civilian population in the border areas to hide after being attacked.

For his part, Ayman Aqil, President of Maat Foundation, said that the United Nations Charter came to preserve international peace and security, stop destruction and wars, prevent conflicts, and maintain and preserve peace. Aqeel called on the Security Council to assume its responsibilities under the Charter of the United Nations, and work to stop this conflict immediately, in order to protect civilians .

The head of Maat Foundation pointed out that these events remind us of the year 2006, when military confrontations occurred between Israel and Hezbollah, which led to the death of more than 1,000 civilians, and in order not to repeat this scene again, the United Nations must intervene by using its powers to stop this conflict.
