The training program includes a number of discussion sessions and educational seminars on the various concepts related to human rights and the relevant UN mechanisms, as well as operations to support peace and security in the countries in conflict where there are international peace-keeping forces. In addition to a group of workshops on how to monitor, document and communicate with the UN mission, it also includes a number of round tables with a group of industry experts in this field.

Ayman Akil, President of Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights stated that the importance of the training comes in the context of the rounds aimed at supporting peace-building efforts currently underway in the State of South Sudan, and aims to prepare human rights cadres who can link the approach of human rights to any efforts aimed at sustainable peace and security. "Aqeel" added that it is important to find a link between the UN missions and the citizens, explaining that Maat Foundation is ready to provide support in this regard.

Monica Mina reported; The Executive Director of the International Consulting Group said that the first edition of this program will include participants from South Sudan. Adding that, in partnership with the Maat Foundation, the program will continue to qualify participants from other African countries. Peace and security are at the forefront of its priority files.

It is worth noting that Africa comes within the interest of the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights, as it is a member of the General Assembly in the Economic, Social and Cultural Council of the African Union, as well as the North Africa region coordinator in the group of major African NGOs of the high-level political forum at the United Nations.
