Maat launches the "Try to Communicate" campaign activities With a workshop entitled "The Role of the National Network in Promoting the Culture of Dialogue-Tools and Skills"

Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights concluded on Friday, August 22nd 2014 two days training workshop entitled "The Role of the National Network in Promoting the Culture of Dialogue-Tools and Skills" in the framework of the network activity "Try To Communicate" implemented by Maat Foundation in its capacity as the Head of Network and generously supported by the Euro-Mediterranean Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures.
Ms. Mona Ali Eldeen, the training expert and advisor on political participation, communication and negotiation skills, the role of human rights in social change, and results measure mechanisms in human rights education provided the training.
19 trainees from the network member organizations representing different governorates participated in the training workshop, when the workshop aimed at promoting the culture of dialogue, mutual respect, acceptance of the other, and tolerance. Along with building the capacity and skills of the Egyptian network members to promote the values of dialogue and enabling them of the tools, skills and methods of dialogue among another set of activities.
The workshop addressed relative topics to the tools and skills of dialogue, the role of different institutions in promoting the culture of dialogue and discussion, the values that affect the culture of dialogue, rights and freedoms and other relative issues.
The trainees participated effectively during the working groups, brain storming etc. to present the experience of civil society institutions in different locations inside Egypt such as: Alexandria, Assiut, Sharqia, Beni Suef, Damietta, and North Sinai etc. along with putting forward proposals and activities to promote the culture of dialogue in the community, activate the institutions role in the promotion of the culture of dialogue and putting adequate mechanisms to be suitable with the local communities in each governorate in order to promote the culture of dialogue.
It is worth mentioning that the "Try to Communicate" campaign consists of three linked activities seeking at accomplishing the same goal via the implementation of a group of activities that target CSOs including a training workshop, booklets production tackling relative issues to dialogue in a simple way in order to be accessible to public audience from the youth and CSOs workers, and a theatric performance taking into account the art impact on different community groups.
